Job summary

Pfeiffer Vacuum is seeking a Field Service Engineer to act as the on-site technical authority for semiconductor tools in Arizona. You will diagnose and resolve high-complexity issues across mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and control subsystems, driving root-cause analyses and corrective actions to improve uptime in a high-volume fab environment.

Based in Chandler, AZ with frequent domestic and international travel for training and customer support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related discipline.
Associate degree in Electronics/Engineering Technology plus significant field experience.
8–10+ years of experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment or equivalent high-reliability industrial systems.
Strong communication in English; ability to work with customers and teams across locations.
Travel up to 30% and international training travel; passport and driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary senior technical resource supporting semiconductor tools at Arizona customer sites.
Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex, multi-discipline system issues across mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and control subsystems.
Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve tool uptime, MTBF, and reliability.
Support tool installations, start-ups, upgrades, and major recoveries, including new fab ramp activities.
Interface directly with customer engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
Coordinate escalations with internal OEM groups including product engineering, sustaining engineering, and logistics.
Mentor and train junior Field Engineers and Technicians assigned to Arizona fabs.
Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and escalation records.
Ensure strict compliance with cleanroom, safety, and EHS requirements.
