Job summary

Premier Power Maintenance in Roseville, MN is seeking a senior Field Service Technician to perform testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of electrical power equipment at customer facilities.

You will read schematics, complete service reports, support outages, and travel to regional locations. Eight or more years in electrical testing and NFPA 70E familiarity a plus; NETA certification preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology preferred or equivalent training.
• NETA certification or ability to obtain certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs on electrical power equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in substations and power systems
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and technical documentation
• Complete service reports, testing documentation, and customer deliverables
• Support emergency response work and customer outage situations as needed
• Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Perform transformer testing including power factor, TTR, insulation resistance, winding resistance, and related testing
• Conduct cable testing including insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, and partial discharge testing
• Perform circuit breaker testing, diagnostics, and maintenance
• Test and troubleshoot protective relays and associated control systems
• Assist with installation, startup, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment
• Identify equipment issues and recommend corrective actions
• Support planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects
• Participate in and lead safety meetings, training sessions, and job briefings
• Establish and follow lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices
• Ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry safety standards
• Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced technicians
