Job summary

nVenia is seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial automation systems on customer lines. This role requires extensive travel to sites across North America and internationally.

You will work with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, servo motion, and machine integration, reading schematics and wiring diagrams while supporting startups and providing on-site training to customer personnel.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field (Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation Technology).
Minimum 5 years of industrial automation troubleshooting experience.
Minimum 3 years of Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial network issues.
Modify and optimize PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Horner, Mitsubishi, GE Fanuc).
Support commissioning and startup of new equipment installations.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Diagnose electrical failures involving sensors, motors, relays, safety circuits, and control components.
Travel to customer sites across North America and internationally for service calls and commissioning projects.
Train customer maintenance and operations personnel on equipment functionality and controls systems.
Complete detailed service reports documenting work performed, findings, and recommendations.
Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, preventive maintenance programs, and additional service offerings.
