Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a dynamic Safety Technician to lead critical safety initiatives in one of the nation's most advanced semiconductor facilities. You will identify hazards, implement mitigation strategies, and foster a world-class safety culture with the EHS team.

The role requires senior safety experience, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across audits, inspections, and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Health & Safety roles.
• Associate of Science degree preferred.
• Pursuing recognized safety credential (CHST/CSHO/ASP) is a plus.
• Hazardous materials & regulations – solid understanding.
• Management System Standards – knowledge of OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO50001, ISO45001.
• OSHA familiarity with regulations and reporting.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site safety observations and ensure site safety programs are followed.
• Attend safety meetings and contribute to EHS support activities.
• Serve as first responder for on-site injuries and conduct investigations.
• Inspect scaffoldings as a Competent Person and provide sign-offs.
• Execute Tier I audits and identify non-compliances with proper closures.
• Review safety metrics and report quarterly progress against KPI targets.

Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Performdailyon‑sitesafetyobservations,verifythatOSHAregulationsandSASSiteSafetyProgramsarebeingfollowed.Participateingradedfieldwalks,pre‑task‑planreviews,TierICategoryBaudits,andinspections.
• Attendcontractors&vendorssafetymeetings,contributetotheSafety‑relatedTaskForceTeam(TFT)andotherEHSsupportactivities.
• IncidentResponse:Serveasthefirstresponderforallon‑siteinjuries/incidentreports.•Conductinitialinvestigations,gathercriticalinformation,anddocumentfindingspromptly.
• ScaffoldingOversight:ActasaScaffoldingCompetentPerson–inspectscaffoldingsystemsandprovideOSHA‑compliantsign‑off.
• ComplianceAssurance:ExecuteTierIauditsandinspectionspertheEHSTieredAuditProgram(EHS‑090).Identifynon‑compliances,escalatethemappropriately,andensuresupportingdocumentationiscompletedforclosure.
• LeadingSafetyMetric(LSM)KPI:ReviewandapproveLSMactionsandprojectsacrossmultipleEHSprogramsonaquarterlybasis.TrackprogressagainstKPItargetsandreportoutcomes.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Minimum7+yearsinHealth&Safetyroles.
• AssociateofSciencedegree(preferred).
• Pursuingarecognizedsafetycredential(e.g.,CHST,CSHO,ASP,etc.)isastrongplus.
• HazardousMaterials&Regulations–Solidunderstandingofhazardous‑materialhandling,associatedregulations,andNIOSHstandards.
• ManagementSystemStandards–Workingknowledgeof:OHSAS18001,ISO14001(EnvironmentalManagement),ISO50001(EnergyManagement),ISO45001(OccupationalHealth&Safety)
• OSHA–FamiliaritywithOSHAregulatoryrequirementsandreportingguidelines.
• MicrosoftOffice–ProficientwithWord,Excel,PowerPoint,Outlook,andTeams.

The current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance
