Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking an experienced Survey Field Lead to support our Houston or The Woodlands locations in Texas. You will read and interpret construction plans, direct field survey work, and supervise technicians in the use of Total Station equipment and RTK GPS.

Strong field data collection and safety focus are essential. The role requires 3–4+ years in surveying, with 2 years as Party Chief preferred, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors for long hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–4+ years surveying experience; 2 years as Party Chief preferred.
• Basic knowledge of construction plans and maps.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work 8–10 hrs outside; walk 2 miles.
• Good communication with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and maps (site, boundary, highway, etc.).
• Direct and coordinate field work for standard survey types.
• Perform and/or check lot, area, and intersection computations.
• Train Rod and Instrument Technicians in Total Station and RTK GPS usage.
• Accurately calculate and record field data; maintain neat notes.
• Enforce safety procedures in survey field operations.
• Check calibration of survey equipment.
