Job summary

Morris Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field execution on commercial projects across Southern California, including Irvine. You will run one project at a time, partner with the Project Manager and Engineer, and report to the VP of Operations to keep work moving safely, efficiently, and to plan from mobilization through closeout.

You will own the project schedule, coordinate subcontractors, manage quality and safety, and drive near-flawless punch lists.

Qualifications

• Experience independently managing construction projects in the field from mobilization through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, sequencing and field coordination.
• Ability to anticipate problems, make field decisions, and keep work moving.
• Strong subcontractor management and leadership skills.
• Commitment to jobsite safety, organization, and quality.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to build client relationships.
• OSHA 30 certification and CPR training, or ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Own the project schedule in the field, identify delays early, and maintain milestones.
• Lead daily field operations and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and inspections.
• Build the project per plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and contracts.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite at all times.
• Set clear expectations with subcontractors and drive quality and safety.
• Prepare three-week look-ahead schedules and communicate upcoming work.
• Lead weekly foreman meetings on schedule, coordination, safety, and activities.
• Complete accurate daily reports and maintain photo documentation.
• Review constructability issues and coordinate with the project team for timely decisions.
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and support closeout requirements.
