Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is looking for experienced Construction Inspectors to join our team in the Hampton Roads region, including Virginia Beach, Newport News and Gloucester. You’ll work on Transportation, Utilities, Transit-Rail and Building projects to help ensure quality construction.

You will manage field inspections, review contractor work, prepare daily and weekly reports, and coordinate with engineers and owners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate required.
• Six years of field construction inspection experience.
• Proficiency reading plans, specifications and shop drawings.
• Valid driver''s license and clean driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work nights and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform daily construction management and inspection services for various projects.
• Perform field inspection of contractor operations for conformance to contract documents.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor.
• Perform materials testing and maintain testing logs.
• Review contractor pay estimates for accuracy.
• Prepare sketches and data for Engineer's use in changes to the project.
• Maintain diaries and reports on work accomplished and noted deficiencies.
• Coordinate inspection duties with multiple crews and stakeholders.
