Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking Inspector Supervisors for PennDOT projects in the Mercer, PA area. The role supports field inspection, testing, and coordination with contractors on transportation construction projects.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years of roadway inspection experience, a high school diploma or higher, and relevant certifications. Travel and field work are expected in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; may be substituted for experience.
• 4+ years of roadway construction inspection experience.
• Client requested certifications.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, site layouts, specifications to ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, elevation of structures and pavements.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities for contractor compliance.
• Assign, schedule and maintain inspection staff through all project phases.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings, resolve field issues.
• Maintain record documents and field notes.
