Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation seeks a skilled Field Inspector for the St. Augustine maintenance district to perform complex inspections, verify compliance with FDOT standards, and support data entry for MMS/RCI.

The role involves coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and permittees, and preparing essential contract-related documentation. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class E driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while conducting on-site

Qualifications

• Valid Class E driver's license required.
• Experience with field inspections and contract administration is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans and perform inspections to ensure compliance with FDOT standards.
• Use hand tools, gauges and instruments to test materials per FDOT specs.
• Prepare documentation to validate payments to roadway contractors.
• Enter MMS/RCI data and assist in MMS reports for management.
• Attend pre-work conferences and coordinate with contractors and permittees.
