Job summary

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time engineering inspection role. The position requires inspecting plans, verifying compliance with state and federal standards, and preparing documentation for payments to contractors.

The successful candidate will perform complex field inspections, interpret plans, ensure safety in work zones, and maintain records. A Class E license and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering tools to perform field inspections of worksites for compliance to FDOT roadway standards.
• Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex plans and perform independent complex technical inspections.
• Verify work conforms to all specifications, plans, permits, and safety rules.
• Prepare documentation to validate payments to roadway contractors.
• Assist in MMS/RCI data input and reporting.
