Job summary

Hartford Steam Boiler, a Munich Re subsidiary, seeks an experienced inspector to perform NBIC and ASME inspections, ensure code compliance, and support sales visits in the Pittsburgh area. This role requires independent work, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to travel to multiple customer sites as workload dictates.

You will review client packages, witness testing, and document results while maintaining strict quality controls and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years' experience in pressure equipment industry as outlined in NB-263/RCI-1 including boiler operation >50,000 lbs/hr, repairs or maintenance, ASNT Level II/III NDE, and boiler/pressure vessel inspection or maintenance.
• 2 years' experience with NB-263/RCI-1 plus completion of accredited military/merchant marine training or related certifications (CWI, Boiler Maker, Power Engineering, API Inspector).
• 1 year' experience with NB-263/RCI-1 and a BS/BA in Engineering, Technology, Science or Math (BSME, BSEE, or BSChe).

Responsibilities

• Provide inspections to ASME, NBIC, International Codes, ISO and client specs.
• Operate with minimal supervision and ensure code and regulatory compliance.
• Review and accept Client Job Packages.
• Perform in-process inspections and document results.
• Monitor Quality Control Systems.
• Witness final equipment testing including pressure tests.
• Review and sign required forms.
• Travel to different customer locations as needed.
