Job summary

Consertus is seeking an experienced Clerk of the Works to oversee on-site inspections for a federal project in the Burlington, VT area. You will ensure contractor work complies with design documents, contract requirements, and quality standards, documenting inspections and recommending approvals or rejections to GSA.

Responsibilities include daily field inspections, reviewing subsystems and workmanship, maintaining logs, and preparing inspection reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or extensive relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum five years of specialized inspection experience.
• Experience documenting construction inspections and reporting to clients.
• Experience leading meetings to resolve problems on construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and installation methods.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and perform daily field inspections of all work.
• Review equipment, materials and workmanship for quality.
• Observe Contractor Quality Control activities and safety plans.
• Observe testing procedures and maintain inspection logs.
• Prepare progress and final inspection reports; track defects and corrections.
• Document variances between contract documents and actual work in place.
