Job summary

ERM is hiring a Lead Biological Environmental Inspector to oversee environmental compliance during the construction phase of a transmission and distribution project in northern Nevada and southern Idaho. This is a full-time, limited-term role for 18 months with potential extension.

The position requires 60–72 hours per week, extensive travel, and a strong background in environmental inspection for energy infrastructure, including electric transmission and BLM lands experience.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree preferred or equivalent environmental inspection or monitoring experience.
• 10+ years of environmental inspection, monitoring, or permitting experience on energy infrastructure projects.
• Electric Transmission experience required.
• BLM lands experience required.
• Able to travel extensively and to work 40–70+ hours per week in a physically demanding position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct environmental training for construction personnel.
• Conduct field inspections and environmental inspections of construction activities; perform field survey work as directed.
• Verify placement of boundaries, access roads, and marked work areas before clearing.
• Coordinate with agency officials, landowners, contractors, and clients; perform required agency notifications.
• Review project documents and provide direction on environmental compliance issues.
