Job summary

Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini Joint Venture's Manhattan Tunnel Project in New York, NY seeks a Senior Field Engineer to lead field activities on a major urban civil construction program. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate schedules, safety, subcontractors, and field queries to keep the project on track and within budget.

The role requires a civil engineering or construction management degree, 5+ years of heavy civil experience, and strong knowledge of CPM scheduling,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of civil construction experience.
• Experience on large heavy civil infrastructure projects in dense urban settings with public sector clients a plus.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal OSHA requirements.
• Project controls techniques including cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts.
• Strong working knowledge of the critical path method and resource scheduling.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and develop a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables.
• Develop quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements.
• Prepare work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings ensuring prerequisites are met.
• Prepare, update, and distribute work activity schedules and communicate across groups to coordinate start times.
• Monitor field construction processes and perform layout checks with design-engineer confirmations as needed.
• Assist with subcontract administration and material suppliers, tracking payments.
• Assist in monthly progress reporting, schedule updates, and issue tracking/resolution.
• Participate in change orders and claims management.
• Identify changing site conditions and impacts during planning.
• Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from relevant authorities.
• Manage project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties.
