Job summary

KLJ is seeking a Field Engineer IV in Colorado to lead field engineering on complex construction and infrastructure projects from concept through completion. You will supervise inspections, analyze site conditions, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulators to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.

This senior role requires PE licensure, 5+ years of field experience, and strong leadership in field operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE licensure are required.
5+ years of professional field engineering experience on construction projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead Construction Observation & Project Execution across projects.
Evaluate site conditions and ensure compliance with plans, permits, and regulations.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation for project delivery.
Develop QA/QC procedures and support project decision-making.
Coordinate field activities and manage small to mid-sized projects.
Mentor and develop entry-level and junior field staff.
