Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Field Engineer / Principal Field Engineer to support USAF programs on a flight line, with up to 50% travel. You will work on complex electronic systems, perform pre-flight tests, and coordinate with mission planners and plant SMEs. Eligible candidates must have US citizenship and SCI clearance.

Roles may rotate between Field Engineer and Principal Field Engineer, with opportunities to contribute to SIGINT hardware and RF testing in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related work experience; 4 years may substitute.
• Experience with troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
• Experience on Flight Line or working on a complex SIGINT system.
• Willing to work on a rotating schedule, alternating between day and night shifts.
• Physically demanding outdoor work around aircraft and test equipment, up to 50 lbs.
• Up to 50% travel to other program locations.
• US Citizenship and current/active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Flight testing
• Evaluation of Pre-Flight and Built in Test results
• Use of complex RF and digital test equipment to resolve issues
• Removal and Replacement of Chassis
• Maintaining maintenance logs and IMDS
• Coordinating with mission planners and reporting daily, weekly status
• Coordinating with plant SME teams
• Work independently and on small teams, communicate effectively, and learn/test a complex system
