Job summary

DigiStor in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced enterprise SSD engineer to own complex drive and firmware issues, investigate failures, and develop repeatable tests. You will collaborate with controller and firmware partners, build firmware understanding, and deliver evidence-based resolutions while working a hybrid schedule with 30% onsite client time.

Applicants should have deep NVMe/PCIe experience, strong scripting and debugging skills, and a track record of turning intermittent failures

Qualifications

• Typically 10–15 years of engineering experience focused on enterprise SSD technology, firmware diagnostics, drive validation or storage failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of SSD architecture including NAND, controllers, FTL, wear leveling, ECC and power loss protection.
• Practical expertise in NVMe and PCIe, with ability to investigate interactions between drives, servers, BIOS and OS.
• Advanced log analysis and troubleshooting, turning intermittent failures into reproducible cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause investigations into enterprise SSD failures, timeouts, resets, data integrity concerns and performance regressions.
• Analyze NVMe health and error logs, telemetry, traces and crash dumps to establish failure sequence.
• Develop scripts to automate log collection, parsing and diagnostic reporting with version tracking.
