Job summary

DigiStor is seeking an experienced enterprise SSD engineer to own complex drive and firmware issues, investigate failures, and turn symptoms into repeatable tests with evidence-based resolutions.

You will work closely with controller and firmware partners to understand firmware behavior and assess proposed changes, while communicating results to customers and engineering teams. The role is senior and hands-on, requiring logs, code and hardware expertise with at least 30% onsite time at client.

Qualifications

• Typically 10–15 years of engineering experience in enterprise SSD tech, firmware diagnostics or storage failure analysis.
• Deep understanding of SSD architecture (NAND, controllers, FTL, wear leveling, ECC, PPE).
• Advanced log analysis and ability to turn intermittent failures into reproducible cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause investigations into enterprise SSD failures, timeouts, data integrity concerns and performance regressions.
• Analyze NVMe health, telemetry, firmware traces and crash dumps to establish failure sequences.
• Develop scripts to automate log collection, parsing and diagnostic reporting with repeatable execution.
• Create reproducible reproduction scripts and workloads with detailed hardware/firmware/configuration data.
• Understand firmware architecture including command handling, FTL, GC, power management, error recovery.
• Review firmware changes and assess risks and regression coverage.
• Collaborate with controller/firmware suppliers to resolve defects with evidence.
• Evaluate performance and data integrity under enterprise workloads and communicate findings.
