Job summary

RE Services in San Diego is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer / Construction Manager to lead delivery on transportation and public works projects with ownership of quality, cost, and schedule from groundbreaking through closeout.

You will serve as the lead field representative, coordinate with client agencies, supervise staff, review plans and schedules, and prepare reports through project closeout. This field-based role demands 7+ years CM experience and Caltrans/Greenbook knowledge.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of CM experience on public works projects; 10+ preferred.
• Knowledge of Caltrans Standards, Greenbook, Whitebook, and local drawings.
• Strong constructability knowledge and attention to detail.
• Experience with Caltrans, SANDAG, County of San Diego, MTS, Port of San Diego and local cities.
• Ability to work independently and build client relationships.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead field representation and contract administration on public works and transportation projects.
• Monitor on-site construction for contract compliance and safety.
• Supervise Office Engineers, inspectors, QA staff; manage subconsultants.
• Prepare daily diaries, weekly reports, and progress payments.
• Lead weekly progress meetings with utilities, agencies, and the public.
• Prepare final reports, as-built drawings, and closeout documentation.
