HNTB is seeking a Senior Assistant Resident Engineer to oversee inspection and field activities on major infrastructure projects in the Los Angeles area. The role involves ensuring compliance with design plans and contract requirements while coordinating with the client, company staff, and contractor on-site.

The ideal candidate has extensive inspection experience, strong leadership for daily tasks, and the ability to lead meetings, mentor staff, and support project closeout activities.

Qualifications

• Assists with complex inspection and field work to monitor compliance with plans and specs.
• May interface on-site between client, company personnel and contractor.
• Leads project task execution under Resident Engineer guidance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies contractor work for schedule and specs compliance.
• Advises Contractor Superintendent or PM on actions to ensure conformance with plans and contracts.
• Performs on-site testing, prepares as-built sketches, and maintains records.
• Leads project meetings and may mentor junior staff.
• Manages contractor pay estimates, change orders, and project closeout.
