Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - CES to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment with minimal supervision. You’ll work safely and professionally while delivering excellent service and may advance into leadership within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Must own tools for the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/diesel systems on a range of rental and customer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Document work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate a broad range of equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
