Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment at customer sites with minimal supervision. You will work safely, keep accurate records, and support customer service goals while traveling to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing diesel systems, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5+ years experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines is essential.
• Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Demonstrated customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians when needed.
• Maintain thorough paperwork in work orders and electronic records.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide range of equipment to customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
