Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – CES to maintain and repair complex diesel systems on customer-owned equipment. The role involves working with limited supervision and ensuring high-quality service at customer sites.

Responsibilities include accurate work orders, equipment upsell, and travel to job sites. Candidates should have 3–5 years of repair experience, own essential tools, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment and tools with minimal supervision.
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
