Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision. You will work in a safe, professional environment and contribute to top‑notch customer service daily.

Responsibilities include on-site repairs, training junior technicians, and maintaining accurate work documentation. Travel to customer sites and occasional equipment delivery assist are expected as part of this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documents of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
