Job summary

The Breeden Company is seeking a Superintendent for Hampton Roads, VA to oversee day-to-day coordination and management of new construction projects. Based in Virginia Beach, this full-time role requires on-site leadership and close collaboration with the Project Manager and subcontractors.

You will manage schedules, review documents, monitor safety, control costs, and ensure quality and compliance with contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of field management experience.
• Ability to read and analyze design documents, blueprints.
• Experience directing all aspects of building/site construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Detail- and deadline-oriented with strong communication.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• On-site management of construction activities including schedules and coordination with subs, internal resources, and customers.
• Plan, direct, organize & schedule activities to meet project goals within time and budget.
• Daily field reports and communications to the Project Manager by 9:00 am the next day.
• Work with Project Manager to maintain costs, schedule and quality.
• Review contract documents and ensure project compliance.
• Conduct weekly project meetings to coordinate status and ensure objectives.
• Assist the Project Manager in the permitting process.
• Maintain safety and security measures with safety orientations for subcontractors.
• Assist in shop drawing and submittal processes.
• Review subcontractor invoices and develop costing projections.
• Coordinate temporary facilities for the project.
• Lead conflict resolution and corrective actions on the site.
• Maintain project records and closeout documentation.
• Oversee warranty service after project completion.
• Share knowledge and lessons learned from project experience.
