Job summary

K&A Power Group seeks a Field Construction Manager in Orange, CT to lead on-site construction for electric utility projects, coordinating electromechanical and civil work with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will monitor progress, manage change orders, and work with engineering, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with CIP, FERC, and NERC requirements, while keeping thorough documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent; 10 years relevant experience.
• Minimum of ten years progressive electric utility experience; transmission facilities construction management preferred.
• Transmission experience is required; NRA clearances and switching orders knowledge beneficial.
• Authorized Person approval and documentation for Divisions required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities, including electromechanical and civil work.
• Ensure safety, quality, schedule and cost compliance on projects.
• Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
• Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to specs.
• Facilitate resolution of construction issues with engineering, contractors, and suppliers.
• Review invoices, schedules, and change orders; provide recommendations.
• Manage material deliveries and maintain as-built project plans.
• Attend safety, environmental, and quality meetings; maintain project binders.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and coordinate with local/state authorities.
• Adhere to CIP, FERC, and NERC requirements; initiate transmission outage requests.
