Job summary

Sora Resource Group in the Milwaukee area seeks a Senior Field Commissioning Engineer to lead the startup of custom automated systems, perform live-wire debugging, and validate I/O before customer sign-off.

This role requires 5+ years in automation, proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal, and willingness to travel 50–80% to North American sites. You'll collaborate across engineering teams and contribute to multi-million dollar capital projects.

Qualifications

5+ years in commissioning, troubleshooting, and integrating custom automation machinery.
Hands-on PLC logic troubleshooting and robotic integration.
Experience with multi-axis robotics and industrial automation systems.

Responsibilities

Lead internal commissioning, live-wire debugging, and I/O validation before shop release.
Calibrate robotic cells, perform EOAT checks, and configure networks.
Diagnose PLC logic, servo drives, vision systems, pneumatics, and safety interlocks.
Manage on-site deployments and train customer staff during field run-offs.
Collaborate with design engineers, PMs, and shop teams to isolate bugs.
Track testing hours, manage open issues, and submit progress logs.
