Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd. seeks an experienced Lead Field Automation Specialist to cover Johnson Creek, WI, with on-site and field responsibilities. The role focuses on PLC/HMI programming, electro-mechanical maintenance, and advanced diagnostics across diverse automation platforms.

You will lead design, commissioning, and retrofits, while mentoring technicians in a high-autonomy environment. A company vehicle is provided, along with a comprehensive benefits package and potential equity

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electro-mechanical maintenance in automation environments.
• 2+ years PLC/HMI programming across multiple platforms.
• High-level mastery of electrical controls, wiring, and diagnostic testing.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Open to candidates without a diploma if strong hands-on experience; AS in Automated Systems/Controls/Mechatronics preferred.
• Must reside within 45-minute drive of Johnson Creek, WI and be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

Responsibilities

• Lead Field Maintenance & Commissioning across Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois using a company vehicle.
• Design and program controls systems on PLC and HMI platforms across major brands.
• Diagnose electro-mechanical issues including VFDs, DC controllers, and safety interlocks.
• Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems on custom machinery and production lines.
• Install, commission, and retrofit automation machinery, safety devices, and panels.
• Provide on-site client technical support and translate schematics for rapid issue resolution.
