Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks an Archaeological Field Technician to organize and supervise fieldwork, contribute to post-field analysis, and support project administration across cultural resource management projects in the Southwest.

The role requires a BA in Anthropology/Archaeology, 3+ years of field experience, and strong report-writing skills, with proficiency in GPS/GNSS tech and regulatory knowledge. Local travel and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• B.A. degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three years of archaeological field experience and technical report-writing experience.
• Experience on large-scale archaeological survey, NRHP evaluation, and data recovery projects.
• Working knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing cultural resources.
• Proficiency with GPS/GNSS technology and the ability to adapt to evolving archaeological data-collection and mapping technologies.
• Experience collecting field data using Trimble GPS units, data dictionaries, and digital recording systems.
• Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise field crews in remote field environments.
• Background checks including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Authorized to work in the US by start date.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise archaeological fieldwork and contribute to post-field analysis and reporting.
• Provide field leadership and ensure high standards of documentation.
• Lead large-block surveys, NRHP evaluation, testing and data recovery projects.
• Collaborate with Project Archaeologists and Principal Investigators to complete fieldwork and reporting efficiently.
