Job summary

Omron Automation-Americas in Minnesota is seeking an Application Engineer to support pre-sale and post-sale activity for advanced automation projects. You will conduct presales meetings with customers and system integrators and provide post-sales startup and troubleshooting support.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years of related experience, travel up to 50%, and hands-on experience with motion control, PLC/HMI, sensors, safety, machine vision, Auto

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from a four year college or technical school.
Five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
Experience with Motion Control, PLC/HMI, Sensors, Safety, Machine Vision, Auto ID, and Robotics.
Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Presales meetings with customers and system integrators for high-complexity solutions.
Post-sales support including machine start-up and troubleshooting.
Lead customer and distributor technical training sessions.
Site surveys and development of requirements for projects.
Development of BOMs for complex automation projects.
