Hamilton Barnes seeks a Senior Fiber/OSP Utility Engineer to support major utility fibre infrastructure projects across Texas within a growing engineering consultancy's practice. You will lead complex projects, interact directly with major utility clients, and, over time, mentor engineers while managing client relationships and a project portfolio.

The role involves travel to Houston, Austin, San Antonio, West Texas, and occasional Alaska trips, with opportunities to advance toward leadership

Formación

• 7–15 years of fiber, OSP or related engineering experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of fiber termination, splicing and connectivity.
• Experience with aerial and/or underground fiber infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and engineering deliverables simultaneously.
• Strong design review and quality-control capabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with utility clients and teams.

Responsabilidades

• Engineer fiber infrastructure for utility environments, focusing on termination, splicing, and site connectivity.
• Coordinate fiber placement with utility clients and engineering teams.
• Develop fiber splicing strategies and intermediate splice locations.
• Design fiber termination and splicing for utility infrastructures.
• Engineer connectivity into substations and utility facilities.
• Develop detailed fiber construction and installation packages.
• Review designs and perform quality control on engineering deliverables.
• Conduct pre-design site visits, field surveys, and post-construction inspections.
• Manage multiple projects through design and completion.
• Collaborate with power-line teams on routing and permitting.
• Communicate with clients as a trusted technical adviser.
• Support broader middle-mile and telecom projects as opportunities arise.
• Over time, take ownership of client relationships and project portfolios.
