Qualifications

• Requires a technical BS in Physics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of ten years managing fiber optic & photonic projects.
• Experience delivering DoD-related projects and understanding DoD system applications.
• Broad understanding of photonic and fiber design options for DoD systems.
• Knowledge of networks, sensors, optical transmission, and photonics components and systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; track record of transitioning lab results to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber-optic projects of small to moderate size and scope and contribute significantly to outcomes.
• Perform R&D tasks including system analysis, prototype development, and testing.
• Communicate results through reports and presentations; develop proposals for projects.
• Collaborate with government customers to identify opportunities and potential funded projects.
• Assist in new concept development and applying engineering methods to assignments.
