Job summary

EOS IT Solutions is seeking an Optical Service Technician to install, test, troubleshoot, and QA fiber optic and network infrastructure in production and mission-critical environments. You will support migrations, follow installation standards, and develop repeatable processes with run books.

Strong fiber expertise and independent field leadership are essential. Field-based role in data centers and telecom facilities, with potential after-hours work and travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of documented experience in network infrastructure.
• Extensive fiber optic installation, testing, certification, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in live production and mission-critical environments.
• Experience supporting network migration projects and operational changes.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical drawings and testing requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems.
• Perform OTDR and OLTS testing and analysis.
• Execute installation services according to project specifications, company standards, and customer requirements.
• Ensure all installation activities meet QA and QC standards.
• Support network migration projects within production environments.
• Understand and mitigate risks associated with live network changes.
• Identify repeatable operational tasks and develop run books for standard procedures.
• Document testing results, installation activities, and project deliverables.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting on fiber optic and copper systems.
• Coordinate field activities with technicians, project managers, and customers.
• Lead toolbox talks and daily field coordination activities.
• Attend project meetings and reviews to ensure progress and safety.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies.
