Job summary

Ampere Computing is seeking a Principal Failure Analysis (FI/FA) Engineer to define and drive FI/FA strategy across Ampere’s product portfolio. The role involves hands-on fault isolation, PFA management, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex silicon issues and influence design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 8+ years of hands-on semiconductor FI/FA experience.
• Deep understanding of CMOS device physics and FinFETs.
• Experience with a wide range of fault isolation tools.
• Proficient in physical analysis techniques (SEM/FIB, TEM).

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and execute a forward-looking FI/FA strategy and methodologies.
• Lead complex failure analysis investigations across wafer sort, final test, HTOL/HAST, and RMAs.
• Perform EFI and manage PFA activities including sample prep and imaging.
• Correlate physical defects to electrical signatures and DF/DV datalogs.
• Author clear FA reports for technical teams and leadership.
• Manage relationships with external FA labs and SOWs.
