Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks a senior Credit Risk leader focused on Financial Institutions and counterparty credit risk in a complex, regulated environment. You will provide strategic guidance, oversee credit decisions, and lead risk initiatives across portfolios and key stakeholder forums.

Candidate should have deep understanding of banking products, regulatory frameworks, and risk governance, with a proven track record in senior advisory roles and portfolio management.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Credit Risk, Financial Institutions, Capital Markets, or Counterparty Credit Risk.
• Expert knowledge of trading products, derivatives, securities financing transactions, and counterparty risk management.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess, approve, and provide recommendations on complex credit transactions involving Financial Institution counterparties.
• Monitor portfolio quality, emerging risks, and market developments to support sound credit decision-making.
• Lead complex credit reviews, portfolio assessments, and risk management initiatives.
• Partner with Capital Markets, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to address complex credit matters.
