Senior FERC Regulatory Specialist (Hydropower)

Join HDR as a Senior FERC Regulatory Specialist (Hydropower). We are seeking experienced professionals to lead and manage FERC regulatory projects within our Northern California team. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to impactful hydropower initiatives across California and nationwide.

**Responsibilities:**

  1. Manage medium to large multidisciplinary FERC regulatory projects, overseeing project staff and deliverables.
  2. Coordinate work of teams throughout project lifecycle, from development to close-out.
  3. Prepare and review technical studies, regulatory documents, and reports related to FERC, CEQA, NEPA, ESA.
  4. Maintain client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, and technical meetings.
  5. Present project work at client, agency, stakeholder, and technical conference meetings.
  6. Manage staffing, workload, and project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  7. Monitor project budgets and adjust efforts to stay within financial parameters.
  8. Mentor less experienced staff and support team development.
  9. Perform additional duties as required.

**Qualifications:**

Preferred:
  • Experience with Northern California utilities and irrigation districts with hydropower facilities.
  • Knowledge of local watersheds and resource issues.
  • Active involvement in industry associations.
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • PMP certification.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project management software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team interaction skills.
  • Commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

The position is based in California, with locations in Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and Folsom, and offers a salary range of $132,825 to $215,625 depending on experience and location.
