Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks a Senior Energy Program Manager to lead energy management, auditing, and mechanical systems assessments for federal clients. The role requires senior-level expertise and experience with ASHRAE Level II audits and building systems evaluations.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in energy or facilities programs, strong reporting skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a federal setting. Travel 25–50% to the DC area as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of energy/facilities/engineering program management experience.
• Experience delivering ASHRAE Level II energy audits with utility analysis, site investigations, savings calculations, and reporting.
• Mechanical system assessments for federal or large facilities (HVAC, central plants, building controls).
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client communications.
• Familiarity with federal energy mandates, reporting requirements, and sustainability objectives.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, verbal communication, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related reporting/scheduling tools.
• Team-oriented leadership coordinating engineers, analysts, builders, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver energy management, auditing, and mechanical systems assessment support for federal clients.
• Oversee energy programs and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Coordinate client communications and ensure high-quality technical products.
• Align deliverables with federal mandates and agency priorities.
• Travel 25–50% and attend in-person meetings in the Washington DC area as required.
