Job summary

Accura Engineering in Boston, MA seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to oversee government construction projects. The role emphasizes surveillance, plan/spec compliance, and daily site reporting across multiple trades.

Candidates should have a strong background in DoD/USACE projects, OSHA EM 385-1-1 familiarity, and the ability to support change orders and contract modifications. U.S. citizenship and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of applicable experience on large, complex federal construction projects.
• Experience with DoD/USACE preferred.
• Experience with three-phase inspection process.
• Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety manual preferred.
• Experience with reinforced concrete foundations, structural components, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and security systems.
• Experience with relevant construction/building codes.
• US citizenship and ability to pass background/drug screen.
• Ability to deliver surveillance reports and support change orders.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and technical submittals.

Responsibilities

• Delivers surveillance reports on all phases of construction for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Supports investigation and preparation of change orders.
• Develops detailed inspection requirements and control methods.
• Observes construction phases for compliance with schedules and shop drawings.
• Performs inspections and completes daily site reports with progress, safety and manpower details.
• Assists in all phases of the contract modification process.
• Reviews contractor plans and submittals for approval action.
• Monitors progress and advises project team of potential delays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
