Job summary

PCI Federal (PCIF) is seeking a Cloud Platform Architect/Engineer to lead design, implementation, security, and operation of enterprise cloud platforms for federal agency clients in the Washington, DC area. You will combine hands‑on engineering with technical leadership to deliver scalable, compliant, and high‑performance environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based systems and platforms.
• 5+ years in cloud architecture, engineering, or platform administration.
• Experience with federal government systems and programs.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automated deployments, and modern cloud operating models.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, and ATO environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of cloud-based platforms and hosting environments.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture roadmaps, standards, and technical design documentation.
• Engineer, deploy, configure, and support cloud infrastructure, databases, and platform services.
• Provide day-to-day operational support, monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization.
• Ensure platform availability, scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Design secure cloud architectures that comply with federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Administer IAM, encryption services, and secure data management solutions.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to support CI/CD, IaC, and automated deployments.
• Design and maintain integrations among applications, APIs, and external systems.
• Support security assessments, audits, and authorization packages.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on cloud engineering and modernization best practices.
