Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks a FAT Technician II to perform comprehensive shop inspections and testing of industrial equipment prior to shipment. You will inspect mechanical, electrical and controls systems, troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs per project documents and checklists.

You will interface with Operations, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance.
• 5+ years leading a team in an industrial shop or field.
• Experience verifying compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret schematic drawings.
• Proficient in understanding electrical safety procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and communication networks.
• Proficient with required electrical test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Architectural inspections.
• Tagging/Labeling checks.
• PID walkdown.
• Major Mechanical Equipment inspections (Chillers, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Fans).
• Electrical visual inspections and major equipment inspections (Switchboards, Panels, UPS, MCCs, Transformers).
• Verify LV & MV power cable installations and electrical testing.
• Energize power distribution equipment safely.
• I/O functional tests of AI/AO/DI/DO devices.
• Complete checklists in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Issue punchlist items for defects and train others in FAT procedures.
