Job summary

AMD in Secaucus, NJ, is seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to ensure reliability and rapid resolution of complex issues in GPU-accelerated server platforms. You will work across hardware, firmware, validation, manufacturing, and quality engineering to investigate failures and drive corrective actions.

You will collaborate with world-class teams, perform structured RCA/FMEA, and mentor others while applying AI-assisted workflows to improve log analysis and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on debugging of server platforms and data-center hardware.
• Experience with BIOS/UEFI, BMC, IPMI and hardware validation.

Responsibilities

• Become proficient with AMD server platforms, rack-level infra, debug workflows, and failure analysis methodologies.
• Drive RCA investigations across CPU, GPU, memory, PCIe, networking, power, and thermal subsystems.
• Support internal AMD sites with system bring-up, issue triage, troubleshooting, and debug activities.
• Reproduce field/manufacturing failures in lab environments and validate corrective actions.
• Partner with firmware, validation, design, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive cross-functional resolution.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and technical documentation for global teams.
• Contribute to RCA and FMEA efforts, helping drive systemic improvements in reliability and testability.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve debug efficiency and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor internal teams on failure isolation and problem-solving.
