Job summary

AMD in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to join a high-visibility team bringing up and debugging next-generation server platforms in data centers. You will investigate complex system-level issues and drive root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include hardware/firmware debugging, analysis of BIOS/BMC/IPMI data, and creating documentation to improve platform reliability. Travel may be required for manufacturing and deployment activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience troubleshooting server/hardware platforms in data-center environments.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and platform logs.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level and rack-level failure analysis on server/data center platforms, driving root-cause and resolution.
• Debug hardware, firmware, and platform issues (CPUs, GPUs, memory, PCIe, networking, power, thermal).
• Analyze logs/telemetry (BIOS/BMC/IPMI) to identify failure patterns and validate fixes.
• Reproduce failures in lab environments and use diagnostic tools to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with design, validation, manufacturing, quality, and infrastructure teams to implement corrective actions.
