Job summary

Mission Support & Test Services, LLC (MSTS) seeks a Facility System Engineer (Senior) for the Principal Underground Laboratory for Subcritical Experimentation (PULSE) at NNSS. The role covers design, construction, turnover, and commissioning of two new testbeds and eventual SME leadership for selected systems.

Requirements include ABET-caliber or calculus-based engineering education, 5+ years’ experience, and the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited or calculus-based STEM degree required; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience; deeper technical specialization or cross-disciplinary knowledge valued.
• Knowledge of hoists, refuge stations, fire protection, and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong written and oral communication; self-motivated with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Support design, construction, turnover and commissioning of two new testbeds at PULSE.
• Transition to the PULSE Facility Engineering group as SME for one or more systems.
• Develop and process safety/commercial-grade deductions and DOE documentation.
