Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) in Columbia, MD to manage security clearances, conduct visitor control, and implement training on security policies. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and American citizenship, with at least five years of security systems experience.

The FSO will develop security plans, oversee access control, and coordinate with government agencies for clearance verification while ensuring compliance with NISPOM, FISMA, and NIST standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Active security clearance and certification as an FSO required.
• Strong knowledge of security regulations, including NISPOM, FISMA, and NIST standards.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with security systems and technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer security clearance processes, including initial applications, periodic reinvestigations, and clearance upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of personnel security clearances and access levels.
• Implement and oversee visitor control procedures, ensuring only authorized individuals gain access to the facility.
• Coordinate with government agencies for clearance verification as necessary.
• Conduct security briefings and training sessions for employees to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
