The City of Charlotte's General Services Department is seeking a Senior Carpenter to perform building construction, preventative maintenance, and repairs in about 180 facilities. Responsibilities include PM inspections and tasks like ceiling tile replacement, carpet/base repairs, hanging displays, and related carpentry work.

Candidates must have five years of relevant experience, strong blueprint reading, ability to lift 75 lbs, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime

Formación

• Five (5) years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of background, experience, and skills.
• Ability to read blue prints and diagrams.
• Must be able to lift to 75lbs. of equipment and/or tools.
• Must have a good driving record, valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a city driving permit.

Responsabilidades

• Perform building construction work including cabinet making, framing, ceiling tile installation, drywall installation/finishing, and door jamb installation.
• Obtain materials needed for assignments.
• Repair and maintain building hardware as needed.
• Repair and install laminate, toilet partitions, and accessories.
• Keep records/timesheets and itemize duties performed on the job.
• Read diagrams and calculate cost estimates as needed.
