Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities safe, clean, and well-maintained across multiple CSS locations in San Diego County. The role supports the Facilities Director in preventive and ongoing maintenance, including repairs, landscaping, and safety compliance.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of facility maintenance experience with painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge, OSHA 30, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
• OSHA 30 certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• HVAC/electrical or lifts certification preferred.
• Knowledge of building maintenance and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repairs, construction, and upkeep to buildings including painting, roofing, fire safety, tile repair, minor electrical, HVAC preventive maintenance and plumbing.
• Assist with landscape management and improvements.
• Extensive cleaning & housekeeping as necessary.
• Maintain maintenance records for equipment and small tools.
• Participate in safety protocols.
• Ensure guest safety when operating power equipment and landscaping machinery.
• Repair cardio and fitness equipment as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment throughout the facility.
• Repair or replace equipment as needed.
• Assist the Facilities Director in major renovations to buildings and grounds.
• Keep Facilities Director informed of maintenance issues.
