Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Facilities Engineering Manager to lead the Maintenance Engineering Group, supervise daily operations, troubleshoot building systems, and manage repairs and projects with emphasis on maintainability and lifecycle costs.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 5 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license; PE or CEM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent; 5 years of relevant experience.
• Contract management background required.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and systems.
• Understanding of building standards and maintenance methods.
• Familiarity with heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, lubrication techniques and materials.
• Experience with measurement equipment and recording systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and plans.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and supervision for the day-to-day and planned activities of the Maintenance Engineering Group.
• Troubleshoots building system operation and maintenance problems.
• Maintains equipment histories for assigned areas.
• Reviews plans and specifications for projects.
• Manages repairs and construction projects related to maintainability and life cycle costs.
• Oversees the preventive maintenance program.
• Recommends improvements to building systems based on data and engineering best practices.
