Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Senior Facilities Electrical & Electronic Systems Technician to ensure uninterrupted operation of automated electrical and electronic systems. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, system installation, and mentoring a team of technicians within the University Hospital facilities environment.

The incumbent will read blueprints, update drawings, and coordinate with stakeholders while maintaining safety standards and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and two years’ experience in electrical/electronic systems
• Probationary period may require certifications and understanding of university building standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills across electrical and electronic systems
• Ability to lead and mentor technicians and manage small projects

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of facilities technicians and mentor staff
• Install, test, repair, and upgrade electrical and electronic systems
• Respond to emergencies and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Review drawings and update as-built documentation
• Coordinate with supervisors and communicate with customers and stakeholders
