Job summary

ANSER in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Facilities Strategy & Policy Analyst to support the Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) Facilities Services Directorate. You will provide senior-level analytical, policy writing, and staff support to FSD leadership on lifecycle facility management and the day-to-day working environment for senior DoW and other U.S.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • 20+ years of experience supporting senior general or flag officers and/or SES officials within the DoW. Will accept 15 years of experience with a Masters degree.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DoW and OSW policies, priorities, strategies, organizational structures, and missions.
  • Experience researching, authoring, editing, and reviewing official government documents and executive-level staff packages.
  • Experience synthesizing information from multiple stakeholders and resolving or reconciling disparate information into cohesive products.
  • Experience applying DoW correspondence requirements, guides, manuals, and style standards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive analysis and subject matter expertise across a broad range of FSD initiatives and mission requirements.
  • Support the Director and Deputy Director of FSD in executing projects, developing solutions, and advancing organizational priorities.
  • Represent FSD in interagency, departmental, and external working groups, committees, and task forces.
  • Coordinate with Office of the Secretary of War, military service, and external stakeholders to promote policy alignment and consistency.
  • Research, organize, author, edit, and review executive-level staff packages, including letters, memoranda, reports, guidance documents, issuances, strategies, and other official correspondence.
  • Synthesize information and data from disparate stakeholders and adjudicate conflicting information to identify common themes, connections, and appropriate courses of action.
  • Identify root-cause issues and develop innovative solutions to complex business and organizational challenges.
  • Author draft decision and directive memoranda and other executive-level correspondence for senior leadership review and signature.
  • Apply Department of War (DoW) correspondence requirements, guides, manuals, and style standards to official documents and written packages.
  • Manage revisions and updates to official materials to maintain consistency with established DoW style, branding, and messaging standards.
  • Translate complex technical and organizational information into clear, logical, and actionable written products for senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Carry assigned projects and initiatives through completion or appropriate transition and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

  • Professionalism and tact when working with senior Department of War leadership, military personnel, civilian officials, and external stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to foster productive relationships across diverse military and civilian organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, understand organizational requirements, and take appropriate action on behalf of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and initiatives from inception through completion or transition.
