Job summary

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking a FACILITIES PROJECT MANAGER III to lead complex design and construction projects from initiation through commissioning. The role requires managing budgets, schedules, and scope while ensuring compliance with state regulations and university design standards.

The position oversees design coordination, vendor contracts, and project close-out, coordinating with departments and external consultants to deliver high-quality facilities on time.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of related work experience providing project management of design and/or construction activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university.
• OSHA 30 hr certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for official University business.

Responsibilities

• Directs, manages, and tracks overall project design and construction phases to meet the established project scope, budget, and delivery schedule.
• Applies complex project control processes to track progress and mitigate risks.
• Ensures compliance with life safety codes, state procurement codes, and campus standards.
• Coords and directs design and construction services for multiple projects.
• Prepares budget estimates and delivery schedules for projects.
